[QUOTE=KPChicago]I've done ale house a few too many times with Second City friends, and recommend it just as highly... the reader did a story about the new owners entitled something like "Drink here long enough and they'll give you the place..."
Howie Grayck, who is mentioned in the first sentence of the reader article about the Old Town Ale House, is a good friend of mine and the drummer in my band. Howie's picture is on the wall at the Ale House and is shown on the inside page of the story. Howie has been going there for quite some time and has introduced me to the owners, doormen and regulars. One thing I like about the place is that the jukebox has nothing but jazz on it (no headbanger music or pop) yet it still draws a good crowd on the weekends. As the reader says, if you go there long enough, the owner will draw your portrait and put it up on the wall. If any Fters go there, look around at the attendees and then look for their portrait. Chances are good you'll see a few patrons.
