About them being rude, perhaps part of it was the language issue. many of them know limited English and then get nervous. I speak Czech and it help me a lot while visiting and dealing with similar situations.
In fact it was a Bulgarian who was rude. Normally I find OK staff to be very cool people - helpful and friendly!!
