The North Terminal into and out of which both DL and BA fly is a great terminal, one of the best to fly through in the world IMHO, compact, clean, light and airy, with great shops and super view of he planes and runway. PLus with the new passenger bridge, it has much more of an architectural presence than many modern airports.

Be not afraid!
My last flight of many out of LGW was with BA about two months ago. I agree it is a very compact airport with some good shops and if you call open air "smoking lounges" clean and airy then we have very different standards. Surly you are joking when you say its one of the best in the world?
