When you check-in at KEF, make sure you ask for a lounge pass as they give didn't us ones until I specifically asked for them!

We ate lots of skyr (a yoghurt like food) but passed on the putrefied shark meat, the puffin, the whale meat and the guillemot! We had the exotic menu at the Seafood Cellar (about £50 each) - lots of fish of course, kangaroo, duck, foie gras etc.
you did not miss much at Pingvellir - at least I did not anyway - it was so misty, when I went to Dettifos, all I could see was the edge of the rocks - making out where the waterfall actually started was impossible

All the other places you mentioned are definites.

As for the puffin - quite greasy and skyr is tasty.

I would try Cirkus (I think) for a late night bar for hardy drinking

The SAS EB lounge is also excellent
