We went to the Seafood Cellar - http://www.sjavarkjallarinn.is/ - excellent fusion! Even my gf who normally hates this found it okay. We would otherwise have gone to somewhere called Siggi Hall (run by Iceland's most popular TV chef apparently) - http://www.siggihall.is/ (traditional food cooked well).

We hired a car at the airport and stopped off at the Blue Lagoon - http://www.bluelagoon.com/ - on the way to town. After checking into our hotel ( http://www.hotelborg.is/ ), we walked around Reykjavik itself (e.g. the Viking ship sculpture by the water - http://www.phototravels.net/iceland/...and-d-007.html , Hallgrim's Church - http://www.arrakeen.ch/europe/087%20...s%20church.JPG) - it's very compact, the most nothernmost capital in the world and quite bleak and slightly desolate in a beautiful way.

The next day, we drove out of Reykjavik and visited:

Kerio volcano crater - http://www.benoa.net/iceland/kerio/index.html

Gulfoss waterfall - http://pauln.truemesh.com/honeymoon/...es/Image9.html

We wanted to visit Pingvellir - http://www.benoa.net/iceland/pingvellir/index.html - but didn't have time.

We stayed the night and ate near Geysir:

in the hope that we would catch the Northern Lights but no such luck as it was raining. The spouting boiling water geysers are fun.

When you check-in at KEF, make sure you ask for a lounge pass as they give didn't us ones until I specifically asked for them!

We ate lots of skyr (a yoghurt like food) but passed on the putrefied shark meat, the puffin, the whale meat and the guillemot! We had the exotic menu at the Seafood Cellar (about £50 each) - lots of fish of course, kangaroo, duck, foie gras etc.
