Another vote for that!
Don't always believe what the check-in agents tell you, look at the tag yourself (or at the baggage receipt) so you know what the baggage handlers will see and where the bag will end up.
After one delayed bag due to an incorrect tag I always do that as well when I have connections or more complicated routings.
