My dad is flying up for Thanksgiving (PBI-BOS) on Delta and wanted to use miles to upgrade his seat (he has spine problems and it's very painful for him to sit for long periods of time). He called Delta and was told miles can only be used for upgrades if he has a full fare ticket. I don't recall ever having that issue before, was he given correct information?
