Voucher payment isn't possible on AA.com (or wasn't for my bookings anyway-maybe there are exceptions). I was told there would be no fee. Made sense to me at the time although it seems some people have been charged on other occassions.

Reserve on aa.com on hold -> Call AA to enter voucher -> purchase on aa.com
