I called maybe 1 week after the flight. When you get op-upgrades on LH they often put you in I class, which is award business. A very friendly agent credited it instantly without any evidence. It was on a UA purchased ticket, so maybe that helps, but don't recall such discussion. The flight was an obvious gap in an otherwise continuous routing.
If LH posts it is as fast as UA segments.
I have the same issue but with some minor differences. My Lufthansa (LH) flight was in April, the credit never posted, I sent in the itinerary AND the boarding passes in August, and still have heard nothing.
I guess I'll be taking an additional MR to get my remaining 88 miles for 1K requalification.
