This has become a regular occurance now that US airports (TSA) require bags not to be locked. You indicated you filed a report with LAX police. As I suggest this to somewhat else with a similar story the other day, have you heard back from them? I agree that this really is not AC's issue ultimately, and resides with the LAX authority and TSA. Though I also agree with others wondering why you'd ever put retail cash cards and your camera into checked bags. Since you have receipts for all these items -- and each of the stolen cards should have a serial number on the purchase slip -- this should be easy to deal with through your insurance company, be it the credit card used to purchase these items, or the coverage provided when you purchase an airline ticket with a cc that has travel policies.
