My guess is that my employer at the time knew the details of their contract with Hertz but chose to not share those details on the travel site. Hertz would claim that it is up to the employer to notify it's employees of the policy. The kicker was that the CSR took the CO FF# at the time of the rental and it was only a month later when the miles didn't show that I found out about this.
