This is the least of worries these days. Let them do this. Remember, this is their "office", "transportation" and sometimes their "home". They will carry a bit more and it is rare that they exceed by much. And as one person says, I surely do NOT want to see them check bags. I have stood at the gate and waited for a crew to arrive all to often as it is. Sometimes they even get a private shuttle from one plane to another to move passengers along.
Now, if they start taking too many of the first class seats away from me, that is another story.
