That's what
SwissTony is saying... most of the traffic will be connecting in DXB to the Far East or Australasia - not going to Dubai for business or leisure.
So, why would BA do a GLA-DXB route, when they have no flights at DXB to connect to?
It's the same situation at MAN. There are now 2x77W a day, and rumour has it that they want a 3rd service (although the A380 situation may have scuppered this for the time being). Business class tends to be full on both flights, so they must be doing pretty well.
