UA: Just stop the pretense and stop priority-tagging luggage

I was the first one out of the LHR-LAX aircraft at 14:50 today. First one at immigration. This is the only aircraft at that time in T7 International, I might add.

At what time did I get my "priority-tagged" 22 incher? 15:55.

One hour. I saw everyone's piece of luggage, "priority" or otherwise, drop on the carousel before I saw mine. I was dead last clearing customs.

So I'd like to know: WHAT IS THE POINT OF PRIORITY TAGGING?

Someone at LAX is not doing their job ( it's not the first time this happens on the LHR flight, again this is the only flight in customs at that time).

So I'd like to know:
-how is tagged baggage treated differently? Different containers? Different holds? What?
-do baggage handlers pay any attention to the meaning of orange tags?
-why is the system not working?
-if the system is not working, why isn't it fixed?
-if the system isn't fixable, why keep pretending?

Just do away with the concept- it's not working and probably never has. It's a waste of time and orange trees.

Just stop the silliness of pretending to offer a service you are evidently entirely incapable of providing.

Says the United Rep. at LAX, with whom I was sharing a piece of my mind : "I know it's ridiculous, no one pays any attention to it".
