I would guess they boarded 1/2 hour early, had a 1 1/2 hour delay, took 4 1/2 hours or so to fly toward ORD and get diverted to IND. That's 7 1/2 hours already.
They blocked out of LAX at 1028 pacific time, blocked in at IND at 1907 eastern time. The original time of departure was 900am local, so they probably boarded around 830am. With the time change, its approx 8 hours total
