I flew HKG to LHR on Fri and could only request 61B. At OLCI still only 61B was avilable on UD so I took it. when I check in for my earlier flt from MNL I asked about 62 A or K and was advised they were held back for check-in as emergency exits and need to be assigned by check-in staff. This is contarary to what I have experienced and heard on this forum. The moral of the story is even its not available at OLCI still ask at Check-in, I got 62A an excellent seat
