Re 1A & 1K on 747, unless you get on early and try to use the lockers above 3A & 3K, you will find your bags stored in a cupboard near row 7. Of course those in row 3 are not imppressed to find the space taken up by those in Rows 1 & 2!

My comment regarding crampness is really about the access to the seats. They are very close together and I suspect a couple of six footers could see their feet touching. The seats themselves are the standard size so there is no issue their. A couple would probably have no issue with the closeness.

Re upper deck, the seats you have chosen are fine. The Deck is shared by the Premium economy class who occupy the rear half. The noise level is better than in the lower deck. Also there are two toilets for the 32 seats in upper deck whereas there are two toilets for 34 seats on lower deck so upper deck is marginally better served.
