It was a one way ticket from US to Europe, if could matter.
I think ba.com just has off days like the rest of us. It was the same a few days ago when I tried to book. First got the try again message, then the we don't know if you've got a booking please ring reservations to check. Ended up booking at aa.com which was slightly cheaper as they don't chrge a cc fee (and my ticket was only £28)
