I know the OP asked about US/Can only, but I don't doubt that the most expensive Chinese restaurant in the world is in Beijing. There's a restaurant (I've forgotten the name) that essentially is infinitely expensive, because they won't even open it for you unless you're a head of state or equivalent VIP. Perhaps someone else can think of the name?
