In regards to AA lounge, will I have access with Platinum status transiting to C America flight?
www.priceline.com or www.hotwire.com in conjunction with www.betterbidding.com or www.biddingfortravel.com can yield very good results around MIA airport. Or at least it used to.

Getting AA lounge access on the basis of AA Platinum status depends on the specifics of your international itinerary and on your ability to get airside to the appropriate lounge. It should be noted that for purposes of lounge access AA lumps some international destinations into the "domestic" category for lounge access purposes -- and therefore lounge access is often not forthcoming -- and that technically you are supposed to be departing on a same-day OneWorld Airline-operated/-marketed flight (e.g., AA, Lan Chile/Peru, British Airways, Iberia, Cathay). Here's AA's lounge access policy:

American Airlines passengers must be departing on an international flight. International is defined as Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Mexico City. Excludes American Airlines passengers traveling on solely North American itineraries. North America is defined as U.S. (including Hawaii and Alaska), Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), Bermuda, The Bahamas, and the Caribbean.

AAdvantage Executive PlatinumŽ and AAdvantage PlatinumŽ members must be departing on a oneworld operated/marketed flight that day. Excludes AAdvantage members traveling on solely North American itineraries. North America is defined as U.S. (including Hawaii and Alaska), Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), Bermuda, The Bahamas, and the Caribbean.
