I was flying out of AMS to MSP 2 weeks ago and had purchased bottles of water just before the gate for my kids and myself. (the SPA brand with the re-closeable spout). We were told we couldn't bring the water on board and we invited to drink it while waiting in the 'pen' before boarding. So, we drank-up. Then I began to put the empty water bottles in my carry-on to bring on the plane. I'd rather just ask the flight attendant once to fill them up and not bother anyone for the rest of the flight for drinks. Also, the kids spill less when drinking from the water bottles instead of the plastic cups. Well, of couse... the EMPTY water bottles were confiscated too!

What was strange is that once onboard the kids kept pointing out all of the other passengers with their water bottles they managed to get on with!
