According to this discussion on pprune empty bottles have been seized by zealous security. However the BAA website pdf for the old regulations (pre Nov 6th) said empty flasks and mugs were allowed. http://www.heathrowairport.com/asset...gage_21Aug.pdf Confused?

How about these examples this week of stupidity. Forget about security staff using discretion; if half of them could just do the job they've been given correctly I would be happier
-celery confiscated. It contains too much liquid and could me mushed up. I kid you not
-100ml bottles in 20cmx 20cm bag OK but the stuff inside the bag needs to lie flat like the DFT picture. No you dimwit that is just for illustration ffs.
-empty protein powder shaker confiscated as no containers that could contain liquid are allowed if greater than 100ml even if empty. Presumably applies to suitcases too??
