I'm slightly concerned after reading this ... a colleague & I have got a return flight booked LHR to AKL via HKG and at present have 1 A&K out and 17&18 A back - so that we can try both cabins.
I specifically booked 1 A&K so we could chat more as 30 hours of flying is dull even with a bed and AVOD. Are 1 A&K a lot better for people travelling together who actually want human interaction? Is the lack of cabin storage normally a problem? i.e. do your bags end up being stored in some cupboard 50 rows back? Or is it just a case of walking to Row 3 or 4 after take off to get your bag (which is only small with all the UK luggage restrictions these days!)
When you say 1A&K is a little too cramped - what do you mean? Are the seats smaller? I ask as I am 6ft 4 and far too many Kgs so need the space in a seat ...
Do you have any feedback on the upstairs deck - the only two things I've heard that seem to put me off the upper deck is the lack of toilets and the noise from the crew coming in and out a lot ...
Thanks
