High speed internet - NOT (at $9.95/night no less)

So I'm ensconced in the Marriott Suites Dulles, where high speed internet is $9.95 per day.

It's anything but 'high speed'.

A test through DSL Reports shows the speed to be about 78K, or 1.5 times as fast as a 56K modem. I've had much faster service with the free service at CY and FI.

This is one of the STSN/iBahn services.

Local & LD calls included in the $9.95 rate - so I'd be paying that amount anyway to avoid the $1/call on local calls. But it's really aggravating to pay for a high speed service and not get it.

On the good side, they took the Bonus Bucks just fine (I'm booked on an M11, so I get another $100 BB), on an $84/night weekend rate (M11). Net cost to me, even after the internet charge is around $50/night. Not bad for full service Marriott.
