-- or do I have until Dec. 31 to get over the top?
2) I've received an email and letter inviting me to renew my Ambassador membership for $100 by Dec. 31 (suggestive of expiration?), but honestly think I would punt on this if I'm not going to make RA. However, would renewing help with getting the status?
3) What's the best way for me pull the slot machine handle with IC to see if they'll give me the status? Call the Ambassador hotline? Send an email to Ambassador Services? On Dec. 1? On Nov. 30?
4) Have I become obsessed with IC because of the "good old days" when you could pile on the 10K bonuses, and probably need to throw in the towel and go back to Starwood?

Hi
hdavis573, and welcome to FT. Glad to hear the Forum has been of such benefit to you as a lurker, we look forward to your involvement and insights now as an actual FTer ! ^
The good news is, yes, Dec. expiry should mean the end of the month, not the start of it - so (if our guestimates here are right) you should have 'made' RA.
A call or e-mail to Amb. Cust. Serv., maybe at the same time / just after you renew Amb., with a gentle but firm enquiry about whether you have satisfied RA earning requirements should thus do the trick.
This said, a post or two here in the last few days has suggested that RA may now only be being given for more than 50 nights (as many as 75), so you may not be lucky - but lets hope that this is not the case, and that you will be OK. (Won't do any harm to mention those $$$ stays etc too, if it seems they are not too keen to promote you to RA !).
I'll leave it to others to answer Q4 !
Good luck with it, and keep us posted !
