Search aa.com for rule80/240 and you will see (in writing) that there is no time limit.
THERE IS NO TIME THRESHOLD TO BE MET IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR REACCOMMODATION ON AA
(unlike other US-based carriers)
The only time this affects you is HOW you get your refund. Anything under 90 mins you get a voucher, over 90 mins you get a credit on your original form of payment, most likely your CC
