good to hear you got the brand new car! they're fairly infrequent, and while 5 miles isn't the absolute lowest you might get, but it is fairly close (i've been in one that had 1.8 and that first rented out around 2.5 or so). Hope you liked it.
By the way, the reason they might offer the R with hesitation is that there are quite a few people who refuse to take the F-->R upgrade, no matter how new or pimped out the R is...and it is more than one person needs for a rental.
