The interior is different, too, and lacking an indonesian touch. Though I have to admit, I did not dislike it, but you get a room like this e.g. in the Intercontinental Berchtesgarden and that is really a different location.
Sometimes a renovation with a refurbishment could be a disadvantage.

According to some of the personnel, most of the returning guests were not happy with the changes. They also missed the "Indonesian ambiance" in the new look. Guests who stayed for the first time liked the rooms.
The interior in the executive suite was cold, I think one has to experience this. The studio's and deluxe rooms were much warmer and stylish however.
I had the same feeling in the Sheraton Bandara. They showed me a renovated room, and it was also a big disappointment. No Indonesian touch, modern and coldish!
I agree with you, sometimes a renovation can be a disadvantage!
