As I understand it, BA will also assign the bassinette position on the lower deck first - the 38J config only has 2 bassinettes in J - 14EF plus 64A.
Downstairs you have far bigger overhead lockers and having travelled with my 15mo old son several times now, you need to have all the gear to hand. Having to shuttle back to the cupboard at the top of the stairs for the book/toy/blanket/wipes/nappy/(you get my drift) would be a royal PITA.

I am afraid I will have to disagree - having tried both I much prefer 64A/B - 14E/F are far too claustrophobic with the bassinet in and don't leave much room to move (within the seat or out to the aisles)
