Forget pearls here, you should check out the Jade Market. I bought a 20" diameter jade chinese horoscope wheel for US$40 - obviously not the best quality 'jade' but it looks stunning in my office!
Never thought about jade, I wish I had. I would have been willing to spend a bit for a nice piece.
About 10 days into my visit, after being out in the evening each day, I was suddenly approached several nights in a row by, shall we say, professional ladies - not the least of which were a very attractive pair who might have been twins. Only a cynic would suggest that this was an attempt to compromise a traveler working for a sensitive employer, and I'm certainly not a cynic. Nonetheless, it's just as well I didn't partake!
