I ask because

(a) http://www.britishairways.com/travel...t/public/en_gb
suggests that I am allowed to take one pair of skis (i.e. can't take two pairs) but that the skis etc are included in my 23kg allowance

but
(b) http://www.ba-sbc.com/be/all-news/ne...6/skiallowance
suggests that I am allowed a pair of skis and ski boots in addition to the 23kg allowance.

Any ideas? If I print out the advice in (b) and take it to checkin, will they believe it?

(IIRC the new postponed one-23kg- bag-only-in-economy rules, if and when they are eventually introduced, allow skis to be carried in addition to the one 23kg bag.)

Since the new baggage regulations originally scheduled to be implemented in October 2006 were never implemented, I believe that skis, boots, etc. are a part of your free hold baggage allowance.
