you can always call LH on the day of the flight and check again. they will happily change your seat.

in case of last-minute aircraft changes, you cannot do anything, but i think that is the same for all airlines.

i have to say with LH i have always flown on the plane that their computer showed about one week before the flight. equipment changes never happened to me. it does happen, but maybe less frequent than with other airlines ....
