In 2005 as an EXP, I was upgraded on every domestic flight during the year except for three segments. Two of those segments were JFK-SFO. (The other segment was SFO-JFK.)
If it's fairly important to fly in biz, this is a good route on which to use 15K miles to guarantee the upgrade.
