For your first and last night the LM Changi is a good place as I hate to spend a lot of money for only a short stay. There are reviews of the Sheraton, LM Changi and LM Orchard in the Starwood forum. Personally I prefer the Sheraton as it is only a little more than the LM Orchard and generally gives nice upgrades if you are a Plat.
I stayed at Le Meridien Changi. It's a lovely and reasonably-priced hotel. The rooftop pool is nice. The free shuttle to and from the airport is helpful, but it is a S$10 taxi ride from the nearest MRT station, and the ride into town is about thirty minutes.
