Given the location of the empower port on United's c-seats, this could be a problem. That said cable length looks good, about 56" connector-to-connector, and it generally seems well-made. (Unfortunately the MacBook Pro it will power has not yet shipped.)
Just returned from a weekend in NYC, and I used mine both ways (BA, in J on a 744).
Worked perfectly. Cable more than long enough, and a pleasure to use as there's no 'box' to get in the way.
