The only real overhead to me was applying for the cards and selecting which to use in a given instance. I do not track the resulting rebates as closely as I should. This results in things like me getting a notice in the mail last week saying I have a UA account with 15000 miles in it and would I like to buy a magazine with them (Actually I did--I felt a year of The Economist for 3000 UA miles was a good deal). So, that likely come from a UA Visa I applied for way back and they opened a new account. I never noticed it never hit my regular UA account. Once the magazines starts coming I will call UA to combine the remaining 12k into my "real" account.
It sounds like a lot but once its all in place the overhead in minimal. Unless of course you want to go wacko by tracking everything on a spreadsheet. No thanks. The folks on Fatwallet.com tend to be that "AR." More power to them.
