I need talking points. Here's what I have so far:
1. 1,000 miles for joining (on the website). We're a little short right now for two award tickets, and this gets us half-way to what we need.
2. Less expensive drinks than in an airport bar, i.e. $5 plus a $1 tip versus $7-9 plus a $2 tip. At two drinks per departure, this can add up (though not to anything remotely close to the membership fee).
3. She gets to go into the RCC with me when we travel together. We have a trip upcoming at Thanksgiving and, with luck, we'll be flying UA to China at Christmas.
4. Access to (theoretically) better customer service in the event of the inevitable cancellation, re-route, delay, etc.
5. A happier husband upon my return if I can avoid the public bar chaos at stations like DEN.
6. My boss is a member, so obviously it's a good thing.
7. I may drop from 1P to 2P next year, and the cost to join will be an extra $100.
Any others?
