Happened to me this week at the IC in Delhi - I asked the guy at the desk to add my BA number to the stay to earn my miles - he replied and said that I would have to do that through Priority Club - and they had opened a new account for me (despite me already having an account!!!)

I was in too much of a rush to remonstrate with the guy but I was slightly annoyed.

They also went on the very hard sell on IC Ambassadors program when I was checking in, which I would rather not have had. One pet hate is any company who already has my custom trying to step up their offering, all for a modest incremental fee - particular culprits are CC companies and banks with their various levels of insurance. I was just a little taken aback at the vigor at which they tried to get me to buy it.
