Today I took a UA Express/Mesa flight from DEN to HDN.

It was a Dash 8 equipment.

I was in row 1 right in front of the flight attendant jumpseat.

During the final boarding the ramp agent and pilots were loudly joking about the weight and balance.

The pilots then proceeded to be "silly" and call the female flight attendant a man's name when they asked her to prepare for takeoff and again prior to landing. She called them to ask what they called her followed by some laughter on the phone.

The most unprofessional aspect was the flight attendant having an entirely non pertinent conversation with the cockpit via the phone immediately after climb out from Denver. This was about 5 minutes and though I couldn't hear exactly were not related to the flight.

Shortly after they hung up, the flight attendant went down the aisle to collect water bottles.

The pilots then proceeded to call her again and again by dinging the phone. This happended at least 3 times.

She proceeded to ignore them.

She finally came to the front of the cabin and called them and told them to stop followed by a little more joking.

It was so unprofessional.

I really couldn't believe it. I am a 1K and I felt like I was in the hands of little kids.

I really don't want to use Mesa again.
