I doubt Martin's Off Madison will ever come close to Thumper's but it is nicer and may be worth a try if you are in town.
I almost forgot about 13 Coins. An easy pick for anyone on Flyertalk as it is right across the street from the airport. It is open 24 hours. It is not cheap nor gay but you can't beat the atmosphere late at night. The food is both excellent and the portions are large (the other 24 hour chains are not even in the same league) and certainly one of the best 24 hour restaurants in the country.
