Somewhat similar problem here. I'm going NRT->MUC->CDG on 11/29 (all on LH). Tried to get a mileage award for my wife... no problem getting to MUC in C, but nothing available between MUC and CDG, so had to bite the bullet and purchase a ticket for that sector. Nothing available from CDG to MUC either on 12/5, but luckily, got her a C award on NH - even better.

They are offering me inconvenient routings via VIE, ZRH and CPN but with multiple LH non-stops available why should I waste more of my day connecting?
After several calls I asked the agent to check MUC-FRA availability on Nov 30 (a Thursday in November, with no holidays in France or Germany I am aware of). Zero availability on 14 non-stops. What gives? This means LH has pretty much pulled all their inventory intra Europe on those days to MP award redemption so it is not a cap on a flight by flight basis.
Intra Europe sectors on Lufthansa used to be one of the relatively sure things in the award game - if you could get across the pond you didn't have to worry about the hub-destination city flight too much as Lufthansa would almost always be available.
Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? (or how I can get an award on one of these flights)
Are these flights also locked out to other * award redemption?
