I'm one of those people,and they lost me to WN a whie ago for certain routes- SJC-SAN (737 vs.RJ), SJC-LAS/PHX (non-stop vs. not). I will always prefer WN to AA to avoid additional segments or the RJ. Better, friendlier service, better on-time performance. Better fares in almost all cases. WN don't get me to NRT, though.

I was coming back from NRT yesterday, via LAX of course. While waiting for the gate-checked luggage on the RJ at SJC, several people who had done the same thing were talking. Several were saying it was time to look at UA out of SFO because of this latest removal. Definitely sucked.
