I just checked ExpertFlyer for you.
CDG-MUC:
On 30NOV, there are 8 nonstop flights on LH metal between CDG-MUC.
Each of these flights is showing X9.
This means that each flight has at least 9 award seats in coach available.
On 29NOV, the situation is IDENTICAL.
On 01DEC, the situation is IDENTCIAL, as well.
LYS-MUC:
On 30NOV, there are 4 nonstop flights on LH metal between CDG-MUC.
Each of these flights is showing X9.
This means that each flight has at least 9 award seats in coach available.
On 29NOV, the situation is IDENTICAL.
On 01DEC, only 3 of the 4 nonstop flights show X9, one shows X0.
Hence, if UA can't give you award seats, it's because they don't want you to fly LH. The reason for this my be that UA is unwilling to pay LH monetary compensation for those coach seats.
