I guess that the implication of some above remarks is that there has been some exaggeration by some posters in this thread as to how many miles they have gotten with credit cards.

To the contrary, I think the thrust of this thread is correct. You can get a whale of a lot of miles with credit card bonuses.

If I were more dedicated I would try to count up my bonus miles and credit cards. Probably about 20-30 cards and maybe 5-600,000 miles (on Delta, UAL and AA, not counting Starpoints, Marriott etc.

I do know that I have flown recently to BKK, DPS, NRT and BEJ recently in J or F for free. Thanks to credit card bonus miles. And, in the past flew J or F to London, France, Egypt and Israel, again for free. Still have several hundred thousand miles waiting to be burned.
