I expect Mileage Plus to increase their miles needed for award tickets by some 40-60% in the very near future (they did already increase it for upgrades).

LH is, in my experience, at least as fast/competent and succesfull as UA in getting me award tickets on other Star-carriers (that also means: LH has the same troubles in getting first-class awards on SQ flights ...).
