Yes. If you take a "segment" with more than one "sector" (i.e., more than one take off and one landing) using the same flight number (on the same day; i.e., without a stopover), then that counts as one "flight" against the four that are allowed to explore the continent. For example, CX751 HKG-BOM makes a stop in BKK (and continues on to DXB on the same flight number, but that's a different continent according to oneworld). There are two "sectors" (HKG-BKK and BKK-BOM), but only one "segment," so this would only count as one "flight." You also only get the miles between the endpoints of the "segment," not the combined miles of the two "sectors." 2,677 base miles, in the case of HKG-BOM.
