KL and AF went through a merger last year that temporarily impacted their relationship with AS. The original AS agreement with KL started on February 1, 1989, and ended on June 24, 2005, when they were going through the merger with AF. The agreement is back in place for earning miles with both KL and AF as of February 1, 2006, although award options have yet to be determined. Any flights flown on KL/AF between June 25, 2005, and January 31, 2006, are not eligible for credit with AS' program, as no agreement was in place during that time.
In regards to the MVPG "threshold bonus" of 50,000 miles, it requires either 75,000 actual qualifying flight miles on AS/QX/elite qualifying partners or 100 flight segments on the same during a calendar year.
