well - I would just choose the most convenient flight (flight time).

The food in eco will not be anything special or great on any Star-carrier on such a (relativly short) inner European flight. If it is an early morning flight, than you might just get a croissant, some bread, butter, jam and some cheese.

LOT will join StarAlliance (as a miles&more meber), but only early 2003.
