Of interest, CNN recently ran an article describing how to avoid being an ugly American while traveling. Included in the list, not over-tipping. The same applies here, don't be an ugly MR-ers, don't over-tip (or tip at all).

Ugly American? Before I go OMNI, what is the deal with that and the CNN global view? An American is an American. So what if he wants to tip. It is oh kay for others to have a culture, but not Americans?
