I have heard HKG is a very efficient airport, however can anyone who has more experience with travels through HKG help answer my questions.

I am arriving off BA25 at 14:40 and my plans have now changed and I need to travel straight to BKK. Booking on a seperate ticket would a 16:00 departure with CX be a little too risky?

I have never flown through HKG before so am not aware what transit times to expect.

Also with CX being a OW partner are BA able to tag by bags straight through to BKK if the two flights are on a seperate booking or will I have to collect my bags and re-check at HKG.
